I can’t remember the first time I heard of Jeff Bezos, but by the time I did hear of him, he was already a ba-zillionaire.
It seemed like overnight he went from whatever-he-was-doing-before-Amazon to rich-and-famous.
And then I look at my own goals, and my current progress toward those goals, and I think: All I need is a big break – that brilliant idea – that will launch me into an overnight success.
Wouldn’t that be fabulous?
Here’s the truth.
Jeff (I like to call him “Jeff” – we’re buddies like that), he worked for years before Amazon became Amazon.
We don’t see the thousands of hours he worked, the thousands of risks he took, or the thousands of failures he experienced.
What I want to offer you is this.
The overnight successes aren’t overnight successes. They’re a compilation of failed launches, disappointing results, and persistence when failure is an option.
The overnight successes are people who could have given up, many times over, but choose to keep going.
Truly, quitting is the only way to fail.
So whether you’re struggling with your weight goal, not meeting your benchmarks at work, or frustrated with a stagnant career, I want to offer that you will succeed if you keep moving forward – if you persist.
Come talk with me when you’re ready. I’ll be here.
